What a load of nonsense...

If you know.. you know. If you don't... this is my favourite pupil response to the alien words used in the Read Write Inc scheme for Phonics.

Throughout week 3 I have tried once and for all to crack phonics.... HOWEVER it was a disaster! I couldn't pronounce all the sounds correctly... I couldn't remember what came next... Fred talk, Fred in your head etc...BUT that's okay! I'm only learning- although I did feel like abit of an idiot when the children knew more than I did. Anyway... moving on swiftly, this has know become a target that is a work in progress. I will continue to team teach phonics with another member of experienced staff whilst I get my subject knowledge up to speed and then, once my confidence and knowledge is sound I will take over a group on my own.

Targets-

1. To develop further knowledge of phonics teaching and learning- (A work in progress)

-Observing different phonics group

-Listening to children read and correcting mistakes

-Teaching a phonics group in parts under the direction of an experienced member of staff

2.To contribute to the wider ethos of the school- (A work in progress)

-Plan for a collective worship

-Join and help at an after school club

-Inclusive to all members of the school community

-Attended parents evening

-Helped paint the new library area

-Plan to introduce go Wild for Wildlife in the month of June
