Welcome... Here is my story so far!

So, why am I going into Teaching?

I decided at a young age that I wanted to venture into the Teaching profession and since many people have warned me about the stress of teaching, the money, and the hours spent on making resources. I have started my course at Edge Hill University under no illusions. I am willing and prepared to make the sacrifice to become the teacher I imagine I can be, to make an impact on the children that I teach. This will take practice and commitment but I  believe children are special creatures worthy of  my time and effort.

'I believe I have the energy, enthusiasm, commitment and skills needed to be an effective teacher. I am genuinely excited at the thought of teaching a new generation and I look forward to meeting other people who share my passion and to facing the challenges ahead.'

This is a quote taken from my personal statement, one part of the application process for this course. I use the term 'course' but teaching is a vocation. The application process for Edge Hill was the first challenge I faced, I undertook Maths and Literacy tests, an interview and a presentation- all in order to earn a place on the course with a cohort of 350 other trainees. If I passed the first hurdle in my life at 18 years of age then I can only imagine what I can achieve years down the line... After thorough research and application of pedagogical strategies,  taking advice from my experienced, inspirational tutors and  learning from future colleagues.

I look forward to the challenging journey ahead of me and lastly, documenting this on my new blog :).
