Modern Times- AFL

This is an idea I have magpied from the inspirational @MissMcintyre- this provides children with a self assessment opportunity. Basically, they design their own emoji to demostrate their feelings about what they have just learnt. If they draw and label a confused face then this indicates that this specific child didn't understand the task or didn't meet the learning outcome. This will alert the teacher to which children need that extra little bit of help in order to make progress and understand the learning objective.

These are great handouts that can be laminated, used and collected back in. Reusable is key as we all know how precious a teachers time really is.

Self, Peer and Teacher Assessment
August 20, 2016
This is a quick and easy way of montioring pupil progress... keep these slips printed and in your desk draw so they can be whipped out whenever necessary. The children can peer and self assess depending on your preference. This method of progress monitoring not only highlights an area of improvement for each child but also celebrates what they have achieved. These can be stuck in books or logged electronically- simple. Especially useful since teachers no longer have levels to follow.
I will definetly be incorporating these into my teaching in the future!
Teaching Assistant Feedback Forms
August 20, 2016
One of my friends, a third year student at Edge Hill told me of this logical idea, I use the word logical as Teaching Assistants frequently work with different groups therefore it would make sense for them to complete a short write-up / review of what has happened... who did and said what? How have the children demonstrated that they have met the learning objective or outcome. This template is yet another short and simple method of monitoring pupil progress. As the teacher, if you haven't worked with a specific group of children that lesson it is vital to get a picture of where they are at with their learning journey therefore there is no better way than to ask your right hand man... Your TA.
