A messy classroom is the best classroom...

I always hate walking into a house and it looks immaculate... firstly I ask myself - 'does anyone even live in here ?' And secondly 'who are you trying to impress?' Why is this relevant you may ask... I believe there is a time and a place for everything and there is definitely a time for a messy classroom ! Especially when you plan experiments like this one...
Talk about appealing, the focus of my science seminar last friday was all about hands on experiments such as this one. Experiments- if planned correctly, can hook children and appeal to the senses! Look at how much fun we had!

This year at university we are focusing more on the pedagogy than subject knowledge and this scares me slightly. Tackling big experiments in schools such as this one give me great anxiety. Do you preform a class demonstration? What about behaviour management? What about the accompanied explanation? But I think the children would love to take part. When people ask me what I am studying at university and I tell them I'm going into primary teaching they ask me what subject I'm specialising in- the correct answer to this question would be none! I have finally realised that I must lower my expectations of myself and take it a day at a time.
During my last placement I adopted a good strategy for myself, I have come to the a conclusion that I think is reasonable- I am not going to know all the answers after three years of study therefore when it comes down to teaching I will research the particular subject. In addition, I am working on my subject knowledge outside my university studies, developing my own subject knowledge folder. I have two versions of this- one on google drive and an actual folder! This works to my benefit as an electronic version helps me on the go and a folder keeps a master copy of any documents I collect.
What technology did I use ?
