Foundation Day and Commitment

Today is my is birthday but the day is even more special because I am to be crowned Foundation Queen at my dance school... this celebrates 17 years of commitment to the discipline of dance and attendance at the centre.

Throughout my time at Whittakers there has been many times I have wanted to quit... The Teacher shouted at me because I forgot the steps, I couldn't 'do' specific dance steps, I didn't like dancing anymore, the others girl hated me...
Why is this relevant?
I have come to realise teaching is a vocation that requires hard work and commitment but I have developed my own resilience after preparing for many dance examinations over the last 17 years- all thanks to the teachers at Whittakers Dance and Drama Centre.
I have even changed positions in the dance studio. During my time in school I helped to choreograph sections within the Schools Alive performance. I put the skills Miss Ganely, Miss Southworth, Miss J, Miss Crawford, Miss Whittaker and Mr Ganley have taught me to good use. Watching the performance from the side backstage, really homed in on the nostalgia I had for dance.
I aim to use the many skills my dancer teachers have taught me over the years and transfer these to teaching.
