I felt that this blog was necessary because I've lately found a new hobby that soon became my passion.
CHEERLEADING!
At the start of university I successfully auditioned for a part on the cheerleading squad. Why is this relevant you may ask... Well I think this would be a great after school club for the children on my next professional practice.
During my first placement I observed many teachers hosting an after school club including various sports, arts and craft and dance. I personally put my skills to good use and asked to help with the dance club named Footloose. I joined this club at a crucial time as they were in the middle of preparing a joint routine with the choir, for the towns annual Dance festival held at the Grand theatre. This demonstrated how staff demonstrated their enthusiasm for teaching outside the classroom. I have learnt that a teachers responsibilities do not finish at the end of the school day.

In order to show my dedication to teaching and extra curricular activities I have decided that I would love to set up an after school cheerleading club during Professional Practice Phase 1B. At this point in my training it would be advantageous to emphasis my dedication and mostly importantly give children a chance to take part in something new to them- giving them a unique experience. In addition this will work towards moving my Teacher Standard 8 grade from a Good to Outstanding. However... I have no idea where to even start with arranging this therefore my target is to seek advice on starting a club.
