Baseline assessments

This is a baseline assessment completed when children first come to an EYFS setting, it is completed at the start o their time and is then compared to the results at the end, after careful observations and planning.

When planning for specific children I should check where they are with their development and create opportunities to support them. Before placement I had never seen this type of assessment completed before therefore it was a big learning curve for me. I did struggle with assessment in the EYFS but after seeking help from various professionals and after completing research (see TSP folder) I feel more confident with different strategies and approaches to monitor pupil progress.
